The Nun Files

After watching Hannah Collins, Grace Lister-Akerman and Sophie Faulkner’s showing of ‘The Nun Files’ pilot episode, all 50 of us were in stitches and after hearing that they will be re-filming, using Artytype to source some crew, we had to learn more about the project.

The Nun Files is a brilliantly written, comedic, mockumentary style series taking a look into the secret lives of nuns in a fun and easy watching format (and if you enjoy ‘This Country’ it will be right up your street!).
When asking where the idea began, Grace told us, “We were walking back from the Arts Bar one night last year and thought what if there were nuns in the (Georgian) Cathedral.”
Sophie: “This is really cringe, such a drama school thing, we would be hanging out and we’d be like ‘should we improv it?’”
Hannah: “For like 3 hours non stop.”
Grace: “For fun.”
Hannah: “It was really weird.”
Grace’s character, the head nun, is based off of her impression of her religious grandmother, after improvising what began as an inside joke for months.
She is accompanied by the humorously dead-pan demeanour of Sophie’s elder nun character and complemented by the youthful, untraditional, crisp-loving character of a nun adopted by the nunnery, portrayed by Hannah.
